Here at GXO Logistics, we’re looking for a Head of Operations to provide expert leadership and direction across our operation, ensuring a high-quality and safe service is delivered to all our customers. Supporting with different contract at our multi-user site, you’ll be responsible for preparing and managing the warehouse budget and business plans, whilst supporting and managing the development of your team.
Joining us on a permanent, full-time contact based in Sherburn in Elmet, your working hours will be Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00, however, some flexibility may be required.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £65,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, as well as the option to purchase additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:
Set individual safety objectives for all members of the team and ensure that the site’s safety performance is met- Produce and review forecasts with the customer in line with business performance
- Utilise labour and other resources to effectively manage the overall warehouse operation, monitoring financial performance and identifying cost-saving initiatives
- Defining, compiling & analysing agreed KPI information to ensure optimal efficiency & performance of the warehouse operation
- Managing shift managers and reports through effective delegation, objective setting and monitoring of their performance and workload
What you need to succeed at GXO:
Proven successful warehouse management and transport operations experience is essential- Strong team management and coaching skills, coupled with the ability to drive and implement change
- Demonstrable track record of managing an operation through objective setting, including the establishment and monitoring of KPI’s and managing budgets and monitoring actual against budget
- Experience working with internal and external customers, with the ability to influence stakeholders
