Here at GXO, we’re recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our growing team in Sherburn in Elmet to oversee the day-to-day running of our brand-new Asda contract. You will be a front-runner in enhancing employee engagement and their development whilst driving forward a culture of continuous improvement.
You will provide expert leadership and direction across the operation in order to deliver a high-quality and safe service to our customers, whilst ensuring that we fulfil our responsibilities relating to the warehouse services of the contract whilst managing and developing the site management population in line with the contract requirements and customer expectations.
This is a full-time, permanent position predominantly working Monday – Friday, however flexibility may be required during peak.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £45,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:
Review and evaluate the warehouse plans on a daily basis making recommendations for changes as appropriate to ensure all KPI’s are achieved and improved upon- Monitor financial performance, identify cost saving initiatives and implement corrective actions where appropriate to maximise the efficiency of the warehouse function
- Prepare and present information for business cases and CI/ Gainshare initiatives
- Review and monitor internal processes to ensure optimum efficiencies
- Promote effective and harmonious employee relations through formal and informal communication channels, engaging trade union reps where appropriate
What you need to succeed at GXO:
Experience managing a fast-paced warehouse operation- A proven track record of dealing with internal and external customers directly
- Ability to establish and manage continuous improvement initiatives, whilst driving efficiency
- Highly analytical and IT literate
