Reporting to the Managing Director, the main purpose of this role is to successfully lead the delivery of the warehouse, equipment and transport functions enabling high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
You will be able to evidence excellent strategic leadership that embraces a values-based approach in all aspects of your work. You will be an excellent communicator able to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, have credibility with teams and proven ability to deliver sustainable solutions.
You should ideally be based in West London or living within a reasonable commuting distance.
Main Accountabilities
- Lead the delivery of the current strategy for Operations and create, with oversight from the Managing Director, the future operational strategic initiatives.
- Lead the warehouse, equipment and transport functions ensuring cross functional working to deliver efficient sourcing of equipment and delivery to customers.
- Lead the operations department to continue to develop the synergies, systems and processes needed to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Champion the sustainability agenda for the business, ensuring the company stays at the forefront of technological advancement and continues to consider both planet and people alongside profit.
- Continue the journey of developing a high-performing operations team - develop, coach and manage performance to deliver exceptional results.
- Oversee the Operations department financial performance, and ensure systems are in place to deliver required reporting and KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, Environment, Government and legislation requirements.
- Promote the vision, purpose, values and reputation of the business with all employees, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory bodies.
- Foster an environment which enables growth and development for all employees.
Candidate Requirements:
- Extensive experience in leading an operations function, ideally within the equipment hire industry
- Experienced leader with the ability to grow individuals and teams
- An ability to leads projects and identify process improvements
- Experience of customer service and delivering high levels of satisfaction
- Demonstrated commercial ability and business acumen, including strategic and tactical planning and implementation
- Committed to delivering on sustainable development (i.e. meeting the needs of the present without compromising future generations)
- Hands-on, proactive, driven and determined
