- To lead and develop direct reports to deliver against business plan. Create a climate of accountability and empowerment with team members to ensure exceptional and consistent customer experience
- Be an active member of the Finning Power Rental leadership team contributing to the delivery of plans and overall business performance against relevant measures
- Fully understand the customer’s key business drivers and emerging needs to ensure customer-centric solutions are created and executed in line with business plans
- Lead growth across our rental business, driving maximum asset utilization and delivering exceptional customer service resulting in an industry leading market share
- Collaborate with the leadership team in Finning Power Rental and Electric Power to drive alignment across sales, Applications Engineering, Finance and the wider organization
- Drive process improvement focusing on core elements of the “ready to rent” process and maintenance planning of the equipment to maximising uptime (utilisation) and cost capture on returned equipment
- Manage all functions and projects within budget and financial targets to maximise profitable performance of the business
- Management of suppliers across the branches, ensuring we follow the procurement policy
- Contribute towards the development of the long-term strategy for Finning Power Rental and own the operational elements to support the strategy. Including the introduction of new technology into the fleet and training for the operational teams
- Drive employee engagement in line with agreed business targets driving a consistent approach through the team and across the branches, using the employee engagement survey as a guide
- Implement procedural changes ensuring that security of site, people & equipment is maintained to the highest standard
- Accountable for delivering all team activities to quality and on-time.
- Accountable for Health & Safety performance within workshops, driving up Log Incident usage through the team.
- Be a key member of the Finning UK&I management team through contribution and the development and delivery of strategy.
- At least 5 years experience of workshop or field service management, equipment or process engineering financial management and controls or Engineering Degree.
- Track record of delivering to deadlines.
- Demonstrate team building and management through development and mentoring (desirable).
- Strong organisational and management skills.
- Good levels of numeracy and literacy.
- Mechanical and technical understanding of rental equipment to include generators, transformers, load banks and ancillary equipment, and engineering cost and revenue profiles preferred.
- A good understanding of using computer packages, such as Microsoft; Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
- Understanding of budgetary control and processes in and across multiple branches.
