Job description
Elevation Engineering & Manufacturing are partnering with a privately owned SME who are looking to recruit a new Operations Manager.
The role will encompass a number of different business areas including Production, Warehouse and Purchasing. This will allow the Operations Manager to put their own stamp on the business and be part of driving future success.
There is no requirement for any specific sector experience but individuals coming from an SME background that have had exposure to broad roles would be preferred. We are also particularly interested in discussing the role with candidates that are looking to make a step up from Supervisor or Team Leader level
Other specifics include:
- Managing the production, warehousing and transport team
- Purchasing raw materials and maintaining stock levels
- Managing the training and development of the team and developing a culture of continuous improvement
- Mentoring and coaching the team, identifying skill gaps, creating a successful and accountable team
- Managing holidays, absenteeism and disciplinary matters where applicable
- Set and manage KPIs with the team
- Promote a positive health & safety culture
- Review existing working practices and where possible promote improvements through lean manufacturing and 5S/6S principles
- Liaise closely with the companies sales, administration and technical departments to ensure outstanding levels of customer service are provided
