Job description
As our Head of Operations, you will support the Venue Director in managing the catering function at Ibrox Stadium. You will take the lead in hospitality areas on Rangers FC home match days and oversee the retail and logistics function with the support of the Retail and Bars Manager.
Ensure non-match day Conference and Events functions are delivered effectively and to the highest standard and continuously build strong client and supplier liaisons.
More about the role:- Ensure all on site documentation is completed to the agreed standard and timescale and that an effective system is in place for the filing, storage and retrieval of all documents. This includes but is not limited to H&S sign offs, Duty Manager checklists and other daily departmental sign offs that occur through the business
- Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, contractors, partners, key clientele, and suppliers as per the needs of the business
- Lead by example and take charge of all daily operations and catering delivery on the floor within the workplace as an exemplary Head of Operations should
- Actively take the lead on events. This includes independently carrying out staffing plans, bespoke orders, attending pre-conferences with the relevant stakeholders and liaising with suppliers directly to tailor an event to the client’s needs and deliver operational excellence
- Identify employees with potential for development and promotions within the operation, ensuring the correct development and training opportunities are given
- Champion the management of and development of the catering team
- Ensure that labour costs within your control are managed and that budgeted costs are met, or improved upon and understanding any variances
- Ensure that consumable items ordered are kept in a secure location and wastage is always minimalised
- Suggest to the Venue Director developments in the operation that may improve the profitability, where agreed, implement and monitor these changes once approved

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a comparative role
- Strong, quality operational experience with a passion for F&B
- Articulate and numerate. Able to accurately prepare quotes and reports
- Awareness of government legislation, including health and safety and employment law
- Proven competence of using systems and / or technology to enhance the operation
- The desire and ability to lead, direct and communicate both up and down the line, and to inspire others to want to follow, in the achievement of significant goals
