Role Overview:

As our Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in our company's growth by identifying operational needs and implementing new processes and structures to enhance efficiency and scalability. With a focus on team development, supply chain management, and process optimisation, you will ensure that our operations align with our strategic objectives and sustainability goals. Over the next 18 months, the company will embark on a number of projects, and your role will be crucial to their success. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant difference to a small company and be a key driver in its growth.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management:

Lead, develop, and grow the Ops and Customer Services team, fostering a culture of passion, professionalism, and high performance.

Implement effective management structures to monitor performance and enhance productivity

Supplier Management:

Manage relationships with key suppliers including co-packers and 3PLs, establishing agreements and SLAs to optimise procurement, production, inventory management, and fulfillment.

Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.

Process Optimization:

Develop and implement procedures to ensure excellent product quality and compliance with regulatory standards.

Ensure optimal purchasing, production planning, and inventory management to meet customer demand.

Oversee the management of our ERP system and ensure we are exploiting all of its functionality.

Strategic Projects:

Canton will be undertaking a number of major strategic projects over the next 12-18 months and you will play a crucial role in delivering them.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a senior operations or supply chain role.
  • Proven track record in team management, including recruiting and onboarding new team members.
  • Strong background in supply chain, demand planning, budgeting, purchasing, and stock control.
  • In-depth knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in budgeting, financial management, and monitoring.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Experienced in using ERP and accountancy software, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making.
  • Project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally when required.

Desirable Skills:

  • Food and beverage industry background.
  • Expertise in logistics, particularly export operations.
  • Experience working with contract packers and 3PLs.
  • Previous involvement in software implementation.

Salary: Negotiable Hours: 3-5 days per week Location: Office-based, Bristol BS3 Holiday: Starting at 25 days FTE + bank holidays + Birthday bonus day off + volunteering days. Benefits: Training & development budget, professional tea training with the UK Tea Academy, EAP, Cycle to work scheme.
