A vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Operations Manager at our Wakefield depot, Arriva Yorkshire. The main purpose of the role is to support the Operations Manager in the effective day to day provision of staff and ensure an effective and efficient business service is provided.
- Managing driver resources
- Allocation and pre-planning of work
- Ensure that the correct procedures and behaviours are followed by drivers when on duty
- Identify training needs and liaise with the Training Manager and HR to ensure appropriate solutions are in place.
- Supporting HR Initiatives which include retention, recruitment and absence management
- Incident Management including CCTV analysis.
- Operational delivery of services
- Customer service complaints handling
- Staff engagement including local initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Policies
We are looking for someone who has the drive and determination to make continuous improvements, therefore your skills will be essential to the role. You will have previous experience of people management in a unionised environment. A good understanding of health and safety will be advantageous as will organisational, decision making and analytical skills.
