Andy File Associates Limited is working as a Recruitment Agency on behalf of our client with regards this permanent position.

We are currently recruiting for a motivated, experienced Operations Manager to join our client's fast-growing business who are an FM company offering services throughout the UK. Currently their base of cleaning operations is the Yorkshire area, but they are looking to expand this.

The Operations Manager will lead the cleaning division and ensure that everything runs smoothly from one day to the next, maximizing processes and procedures while meeting client expectations. You will be reporting directly to the owners of the Company and will have a direct input into the management of your division.

The role requires an enthusiastic individual to manage time and teams effectively, offering support and leadership to the cleaning operations of our client. They require this person to drive the culture of their business through the organisation promoting their values to all staff reporting to this role.

This role has a real impact on business outcomes, you will be responsible to ensure processes are being followed and that your team is facilitated to continually improve these processes.

Your key objective is to make sure your team have everything they need to complete the tasks you allocate. Attention to detail is key so that standards are not just upheld but enhanced. You will need passionate leadership skills communicating effectively at multiple levels valuing your team and placing the customer at the heart of what you do.

Being an Operations Manager has great rewards, it is an ever changing interesting position. Each day is varied and often unpredictable, you will be in a unique position to support, challenge and continually support your team.

Working hours are antisocial, your contracted hours will be 40 hours per week however they are not 9-5 office hours. There are early starts and late finishes. Split shifts will be necessary, and flexibility will be required. Your place of work will be from the Doncaster based Head Office.

Our client will be an ISO certified company with ISO9001, 14001 and 45001, showing that they embrace good practice in all aspects, but specifically health and safety, quality and the environment. They are also a carbon neutral company. They intend to lead the Cleaning Industry, not follow.

You will be:

  • Managing and controlling the cleaning services to the agreed specification, quality and service standard required by all contracts
  • Effectively managing a field team, monitoring their performance and quality of services provided
  • Preparing weekly planners and updating client logs
  • Complete tenders, quote for opportunities and recognise up-selling opportunities
  • Promoting a safe working environment ensuring staff are all up to date on health and safety procedures which will include carrying out risk assessments (training will be provided if necessary)
  • Ensuring that all relevant training is provided to staff
  • Being responsible for the operational performance of each contract and that Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are in place and service delivery targets are achieved
  • Identifying improvement opportunities
  • Undertaking investigations and taking disciplinary measures if necessary
  • Liaising professionally with clients as appropriate
  • Being responsible for the recruiting and on boarding of new staff
  • Being accountable for making sure all sites are fully resourced and attended in accordance with the contract
  • Providing support, advice, and guidance on any operational issues that may arise
  • Maintaining internal and external relationships
  • Ensuring cleaning programs are implemented and reported
  • Reviewing targets and ensuring the completion of tasks ensuring KPI's are in place and being met
  • Recruitment and financial processing skills
  • Be able to ensure processes are operating effectively
  • Have good negotiating and conflict management skills
  • Be comfortable with posting on social media platforms
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence
  • To have an enhanced DBS check

  • Experience within cleaning services and have a proven track record in an operational or leadership role
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to create and produce presentations
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent time management skills and consider all relevant factors when planning, such as, staffing and resource requirements, and juggling priorities to meet deadlines
  • Display strong communication skills
  • Have experience within the Education sector
