JOB TITLE: Operations Manager
LOCATION: London & South of England
REPORTING TO: Divisional Director
DIRECT REPORTS: Account Managers/Senior Contract Managers/Contract Managers
SALARY: Up to £75,000
ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
Operational lead within the organisation to key accounts and customers. Fostering a “can do” culture through strong external customer relationships whilst proactively driving additional revenue sources. Nurture a working environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, wellbeing and diversity through strong leadership, role modelling of ABM values and excellent problem-solving skills.
You will be expected to prepare financial information relating to all works undertaken to evidence profitability and operational costs and deliver operational & fiscal aspects of the contract with accurate management of the IT platform.
To foster a collaborative culture and build a strong operational platform for future growth of the Division. A main focus of the role is to strategically oversee all resources within the contract functions to drive efficiencies, profitability, and end to end processes, including the delivery and actual invoicing of the account.
To become a trusted partner of the customers by understanding their principal objectives and strategies and seeking ways to collaborate in achieving agreed goals. In particular, providing advice and innovations on sustainable practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Track, identify and develop new opportunities, generating sales as per your individual target
- Ensure all opportunities are responded to in a timely manner and to a high standard
- Suggests alternative technical solutions to meet client requirements more efficiently, and/or with greater reusability, and / or longer life.
- To work closely with the Business Development team in order to share relationships/cross selling
- Effective, ongoing and structured management of the Managers within the Division, including goal setting & objective planning
- Ongoing Health and Safety reviews across contract portfolio
- Regular reviews with Managers to ensure full compliance at all times
- Monthly/weekly/quarterly/annual reporting performance of portfolio fiscal performance
- Analytical reporting of portfolio performance
- Regular performance, development and target reviews of management team
- Full P&L responsibility for your contracts
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Z
- Technical background in M&E Industry
- Proven successful working relationships with high end service providers
- A motivator and leader of people, with excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership qualities across all levels of the business
- Management/control of operating costs and P&L to ensure are they consistently in-line with revenue
- Commercial awareness & business acumen
- Strong communicator and negotiation skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Good knowledge of the market and current trends
- A good understanding and knowledge of contractual terms for mitigating risk, including the commonly known JCT terms.
- Awareness of ISO9001,50001 quality management standards
- Excellent commercial background
