\*\*Are you an operations manager looking for more flexibility?
Looking for a 4-day week with flexible hours or even part-time?
Excited by the idea of joining an early-stage startup and driving everything operations?\*\*
Yes? Great!
Our vision is to be the number one brand in the emerging digital car management space. Our mission is to help the UK's 38 million drivers reduce the stress, cost and environmental impact of car ownership
Tasks
We are at a point in our growth where we need to implement and optimise our business processes and operations.
The focus of this role is to improve the day-to-day running of the business and remove some responsibilities from the founders so they focus on other tasks.
\*\*This is a role with a broad remit and the mix of work will vary over time but you can expect to be heavily involved in developing our systems and processes around HR/People, Financial Governance and Business Operations.
The immediate priorities include the creation of a PO system, the implementation of HR processes and/or platform, and improved financial governance and reporting to our investors.
Alongside these three projects, you’ll contribute to the smooth running of day-to-day business operations in a variety of ways.
Such as arranging team meetings (monthly) and investor meetings (six-monthly), contributing to their smooth running and ensuring everyone can attend.
\*\*
There will be a variety of reports that need to be maintained, for both internal decision-making and external reporting.
\*\*You’ll be responsible for ensuring that staff have what they need to be effective - ordering equipment, new tooling, passwords, and anything else you identify.
The future shape of this role really depends on your preferences. This could lead to career development towards COO, HR, Finance or Compliance. The future is up to you, and we’ll support your career aspirations whatever they may be.\*\*
Requirements
\*\*You must already have experience performing operational tasks within an early-stage startup environment.
We expect that this experience would include working directly with founders and facilitating the successful growth of the business.
Ideally, you have experience of building business processes from scratch, but if not you must have completed significant work to optimise and improve existing business processes.
\*\*
Similarly, we don’t expect you to have built an operations function before but you must have identified opportunities to improve and lead initiatives yourself.
\*\*You’ll need to show a proactive, curious attitude in identifying opportunities to optimise processes in past positions.
Finally, you’ll need a solid understanding of financial processes. We’re not looking for an accountant or bookkeeper but you should know your way around Xero (or similar) and have exposure to PO and expenses processes.\*\*
Benefits
- You’ll be able to make an impact, in both the short and the long term.
- Working directly with the founders will help develop your commercial understanding of both the automotive and startup sectors.
- The future direction of this role is open and we will help you develop your career in whatever direction you prefer.
- As we grow the operations team will need to grow too and you can help hire, train and manage the team if that’s what you want.
- We offer all our staff a 4 day working week (Mon-Thurs) and we could also consider a part-time role for the right person too.
- 25 days holiday (pro rata)f a clean slate. It will be much more about building perfect processes than trying to unpick substandard ones.
