Job description
- Working with the Warehouse team to ensure a smooth work flow for the US operations;
- Engage, collaborate, liaise, and negotiate with external stakeholders including freight forwarders, freight carriers, custom brokers, 3PL providers, with an emphasis on LTL, road and intermodal/rail, CA to CA, CA to US, US to CA, and US to US shipments;
- Coordinate the freight movement for inbound, outbound, reverse logistics, trade shows and customs;
- Negotiate spot quotes for various modes of transportation and logistics solutions;
- Identifying potential partners who can make a positive impact on the growth of our US Network;
- Collaborating with the US Highway Team & Customs department to design a successful cross border network
- Handle PAPS/PARS for cross border moves;
- Responsible for the freight administration activity these include claims, approval of freight bills, spot quotes, ad hoc freight lane analysis, and other freight analytics;
- Focusing on driving growth in this new area of the Bison LTL network;
- Tracking Linehaul Inbound and Outbound traffic to manage the flow of orders through the network;
- Managing Customer and Partner Carrier Inquiries and developing relationships to continue the growth of this network.
- Expansion and development of existing carrier-customer relationship.
- Tracking and Tracing
- Responsible for improving margins through various methods.
- Advise management when the volumes are short by properly investigating the issue.
- All team members will be cross trained to handle all dedicated carriers.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure proper usage of vacation/sick time.
- Coverage for all accounts in your absence including vacation and sick time.
- Preferred 2-3 years previous LTL cross border experience.
- Demonstrate a high degree of autonomy, proactivity and resourcefulness
- Ability to analyze and synthesize
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Demonstrated problem solving abilities
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- TMS knowledge preferred.
- Strong organization skills
- Experience in the CDN&US Customs process would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of the transportation industry and North American Geography are considered assets
