Young Lives vs Cancer

Job description

Operations Administrator

When a child is diagnosed with cancer life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to.

At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help children and young people (0-25) and their families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. Join us and your skills will make a real difference to the lives of young cancer patients.

About the role

We are looking for an Administrator to join the Operations team. Working across a breadth of key functions, from income and data processing to fulfilment to compliance, this is a great opportunity to develop your operational career in the not-for-profit sector.

This is a wide and varied role that will include but is not limited to the use of systems and processes related to:

  • Income processing and reconciliation
  • Data processing, including supporter updates and data preparation
  • Gift Aid processes and preparation
  • Central fulfilment systems and processes (internal and external fulfilment)
  • Thanking processing
  • Reporting

This role falls under the hybrid - fixed category. This role is part home, part office based in Bristol (your contractual base will be both Home and Bristol). The role is advertised as office based due to a small number of office based tasks carried out by the team but the majority of work can be carried out remotely. With this in mind we try to accommodate working patterns to meet individual needs as far as practicable. You will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with varying audiences.
  • Strong problem solving and listening skills to help build a rapport with stakeholders and to help gain key information quickly.
  • Organisational and prioritisation skills to ensure smooth delivery of all objectives.
  • Team player – flexible, resourceful, diligent and versatile with a task and process orientation.

Diversity Declaration

At Young Lives vs Cancer, we recognise that opportunities for too many people remain a condition of their race, class, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation – or a combination. This has never been acceptable to us as an organisation.

We are committed to taking anti-oppressive action and removing barriers in our recruitment practices. We particularly welcome applications from members of minoritised communities and creating equitable opportunities for all. We are passionately committed to taking actions and making changes to be a truly diverse, inclusive and equitable organisation, as well as reflective of the diverse children and young people we support.
