Job Description
Team/Function Overview:
The Risk and Control Structures Team within Operational Risk Management is responsible for leading the development and oversight of Cit’s Control Framework.
Role / Position Overview:
- Analyze risk, control information, and produce metrics focused on control framework projects and programs including the development of a risk and control taxonomy, risk and control reference library, and establishing standard structures for risk identification and assessment activities., managed segments. Other responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the development of a Risk & Control Reference Library for Operational & Compliance Risks
- Assist with the implementation of Citi's new Control Taxonomy across key risk identification and assessment tools (including RCSA, Issue Management, Event Management).
- Develop approach for standardizing assessment structures for all operational and compliance risk assessment activities.
- Lead proof of concept project coordination to move Citi's Risk Taxonomy to 3 dimensions (Cause, Event, Impact).
- Develop metrics and MIS to link outputs of non-financial risk assessment activities to Credit, Market and Liquidity Risk assessments.
- Assesses risks and drive actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
- Governance and oversight includes all operational and compliance risks.
- Develops and maintains tracking metrics for management reporting and escalation.
Development Value:
This role will gain exposure to Cit’s overall Issue Management, Lessons Learned and Control Frameworks program. Specifically, this person will be tasked with ensuring key deliverables for all three of those operational risk programs are kept on track, and when needed – escalated for timely remediation to senior management.
Ultimately, you will be exposed to the building, implementation and sustainment of three key operational risk programs.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in Non-Financial Risk is a must, especially Operational and Compliance Risk.
- Other risk and control disciplines experience would be a plus, especially in credit and market risk.
- Expertise in the following is beneficial: Risk Appetite, Risk Reporting, Financial Control, Non-Financial Regulatory Reporting, Fraud, Cyber and Risk Management Legal and Regulatory Compliance.
- Management of a global operations and a complex environment that includes global teams.
- Experience in program management (preferably risk related programs)
Qualifications:
- Degree educated but would consider professional qualifications and experience.
Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience.
