Job description
The IW&I Operational Risk team is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the IW&I risk management framework, policies, and practices. The Operational Risk Analyst is an integral member of the Operational Risk team and is responsible for carrying out activities designed by IW&I for the purpose of implementing an effective risk management framework to identify, measure, monitor, and control financial and non-financial risks. The framework is designed to reduce inherent risks and prevent/minimise IW&I losses through preventative steps or actions.
What are the key responsibilities?
- Support and challenge senior management in meeting their responsibility for identifying and managing risk.
- Engage with senior management on risk exposures and provide recommendations regarding mitigation.
- Establish and promote an appropriate framework, policies and practices to identify, assess, measure, monitor and report risk.
- Monitor the implementation of risk management and mitigation initiatives, including challenge and review of risk management practices.
- Ensure that risk data is complete, accurate and timely.
- Monitor emerging practices and stakeholder expectations and develop an appropriate response.
- Facilitate the risk scenario assessment process.
- Training and education of IW&I staff on relevant risk matters.
- Ensure that relevant regulatory requirements are evaluated and complied with.
- Escalate risk exposures to IW&I senior management and provide recommendations regarding mitigation.
- Report to the IW&I Board or IW&I Board committees on the risk profile.
- Prepare the relevant regulatory reports.
What Core skills and knowledge are required?
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- Communication – the ability to engage with a wide range of colleagues and articulately discuss/write reports on various issues (verbal / written / presentation).
- Challenge – ability to challenge multiple SMEs and management on a wide range of topics and risks.
- Attention to detail – to pick up on errors and produce accurate work, with strong analytical capability.
- Organised – work to multiple deadlines yet maintain flexibility through the workday.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly

Salary: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
