This is a 12 month extendable contract (inside IR35) starting in Q2 2023. The role is fully onsite in the Berkshire office.
We are looking to hire an experienced engineer with an extensive background in 2G, 3G, 4G/LTE RAN and OpenRAN/ORAN testing on live tier 1 telecom networks. To be considered for this position you must bring a deep understanding of 3GPP standards, including procedures, call flows, and KPI statistics, and a extensive working knowledge of 4G & OpenRAN Radio Access Network technologies, especially in management of parameters and optimisation.
In addition we are looking for someone with knowledge and understanding of IP Networking Protocols including IPSEC, TCP, SCTP, and Layer 2 & 3 messages, RRC/RLC Layers.
The role will involve analysing and diagnosing main RF Issues like Dropped calls, Blocked calls, Poor coverage, Handover Failures, Interference, RACH failures.
LTE system integration knowledge is also required, along with plenty of recent experience in testing and troubleshooting with proficiency using system logs, OS logs, UE logs, network logs.
Finally, we are looking someone with experience Testing Nokia and Ericsson RAN Technologies (vRAN, Small Cells, MIMO, Timing and Sync with GPS, PTP), with End-to-end testing, in all areas - IMS calls (MTAS, eNodeB, CSCF, MME, SGW, PCR, SBG)
The role will involve responsibility for Open-RAN testing to include software & Hardware tests, 4G regression testing (Basic Functionality, Mobility, Performance throughput), and LTE regression testing (CS, PS, Mobility, CSFB, X2 creation, single user peak throughput), & ORAN Regression Test plan creation and execution.
We require an engineer with experience and understanding of mobility between Open-RAN and SRAN, LTE Feature Testing such as Carrier Aggregation, ANR and 4x4MIMO, Access Class Barring etc. and Hardware functionality testing such as RRUs, RET.
