Greenpeace is an international non-profit global campaigning organisation. Our independence and global reach enable us to stand for positive change through action in order to defend nature and promote peace. We investigate and expose global environmental problems, confront those in positions of power and present alternative solutions.
This is a great chance to combine your workshop, campaigning and organising abilities, by helping us build meaningful relationships and to share our space and resources with the wider movement for social and environmental justice.
As an integral part of our Open Workshop Initiative, you’ll enable groups allied to Greenpeace to make use of our workshop, resources and skills for the benefit of their campaigns – understanding the different needs of each group, adapting communication styles accordingly, and working collaboratively to ensure a thriving, diverse community space for grassroots groups. You’ll be directly contributing towards our organisational commitments by making the workshop accessible and inclusive, ensuring that racial justice is a key organising principle, and removing barriers for marginalised groups.
You’ll promote the initiative within Greenpeace and beyond, building trusting relationships with groups alongside the Allyship Coordinator, liaising with the Workshop Team to schedule activities, and training and managing the staff and freelancers who oversee groups using the space. You’ll also support the Logistics Assistants on projects when possible, help out ally groups with large scale event planning (including finding venues and providing logistical support) and, as a further key responsibility, lead on the creation of an international coalition of Open Workshop Coordinators, co-creating a strategic development plan to allow for the sharing of resources on a global scale.
Location: Islington, London. Our hybrid working model enables us to enjoy the benefits of both office based and remote working. We ask that staff work from the office in Islington 40% of their time, with 20% required as a minimum. Reasonable adjustments as well as specific office based needs will be considered for those with long term health conditions and disabilities.
