Truly PVC Limited are a specialist ecommerce multi-channel retailer of DIY and home improvement products, supplying to both trade and public. We are looking for an Online Merchandiser to join our friendly, expanding team based in Ashton-under-Lyne (currently – we’re relocating to Openshaw in April).
Roles & Responsibilities
As an Online Merchandiser, you will support the Web & IT Manager in delivering effective online merchandising of new and existing products. You will ensure timely and effective onboarding of new products to both our website and other marketplace platforms.
- Onboard new products including set-up, categorisation, creating product descriptions.
- Feed new product data into our inventory and order management system.
- Ensure product listings are effectively merchandised, with accurate and informative descriptions, helping our customers make an informed and confident choice, whilst elevating our ranking in organic and marketplace search results.
- Ensure that category pages are effectively merchandised.
- Produce high-quality images that illustrate and promote our products, whilst meeting image policy requirements of the marketplaces.
- Ensure effective cross-linking of similar or accessory products to increase exposure and cross-selling opportunity, and ease customers’ purchasing experience.
Skills & Requirements
Whilst work experience in online merchandising is preferred, it is not essential. We are looking for someone who is driven and has a strong attention to detail. The ideal applicant will tick most of the boxes below – including a minimum of two of the first five skills – and be a keen learner.
- Experience of selling online, including marketplaces.
- Experience of Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, to support in the creation of marketing and technical document.
- Familiar with Photoshop or similar image manipulation software.
- Good product photography and retouching skills.
- Understanding of basic HTML and web design advantages.
- Strong time-management skills and ability to manage and effectively switch between multiple workstreams.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong written English language skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Positive, proactive attitude.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
