The Role:
Scantech Offshore are looking for Offshore Engineer's to join their team on a permanent basis. This role involves a lot of travelling/working away which is on an ad-hoc basis so flexibility is essential.
The purpose of the Offshore Technician is to operate, service & maintain the hire fleet in accordance with Scantech Offshore Maintenance procedure.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Preparation of equipment to meet Hire Office requirements
- Ensuring service procedures and standards are followed in accordance with company guidelines
- Maintaining safety standards as per the Occupational Health & Safety Regulations
- Packaging, maintenance and operation of company equipment both onshore & offshore as required, following company service guidelines & procedures
- Completion of service reports, minimum spares stock and handover sheets as required following company procedures
- Maintain livery, decals & signage
- Calibrate relevant safety devices
- Carry out third-party inspections
- Pressure test hoses when required
- Working safely as per the Occupational Health & Safety Regulations
- Maintaining a professional and courteous approach to customers and colleagues at all times
Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Manager within the timeframe specified, in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable, and you are deemed competent to fulfil these.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience required:
Essential;
- NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Qualification or equivalent
- Experience of working in an offshore or overseas environment
- Computer literate, i.e. Word & Excel
- Offshore Survival training
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks and priorities in accordance with business requirements
- Mechanical Experience - automotive, diesel engines, heavy plant, etc.

- Diesel engine training /shutdown systems
- Pressure testing awareness training
- Manual handling awareness training
- COSHH awareness training
- Work at heights awareness training
- Risk assessment training
- Offshore medical certificate
- Slips, trips & fall awareness training
- Steam Boiler operating training
- Air compressor operator training
- H2S awareness training
- Experienced diesel or steam boiler mechanic
The Person:
You will have the ability to establish a good rapport with clients whilst onsite along with good communication skills (verbal and written).
Strong adaptability and problem-solving skills are also a must.
The offshore work is not a set pattern so flexibility is required to be able to go offshore on an adhoc basis as the business requires, therefore you must live within a commutable distance to Scantech`s offices in Great Yarmouth.
For this role you must have the right to reside and work in the UK.
