Responsibilities:

  • This is an excellent opportunity to join GE Renewable Energy in the UK on a Modern Apprenticeship Programme within the Operations and Maintenance Organisation. On completion of the programme successful candidates will have completed a Modern Apprenticeship gaining an PEO level 2 onto BTEC National Certificate in Engineering and NVQ Level 3.
  • Be diligent, punctual and behave in a responsible manner and in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety legislation relating to the apprentice’s responsibilities as an individual and always promote the company’s best interests.
  • Have an unwavering drive and dedication to achieve and maintain targets set out in the apprenticeship framework with an end goal of gaining service lead status.
  • Undertake training, attend courses, and carry out such work as may be required, within the relevant time scales and deadlines, in order to achieve the selected framework outcomes specified in the apprentice’s personal training plan.
  • For the duration of the apprenticeship, you will gain practical experience, develop theoretical knowledge, whilst obtaining formal qualifications which are recognised and fully transferable with the wind industry.
  • You will perform multiple aspects of maintenance and repair to the highest quality. Excellent communication skills are required, along with the ability to accurately follow work process instructions.
  • You will have a keen sense of achievement and take pride in the work you undertake and produce. The ability to work efficiently within a team is essential.

Education / Professional Experience:

  • Five GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C (or 4 in the new system) or above which must include Maths, English and Science.

Language:

  • English.

Technical knowledge and skills:

  • Be happy working at heights and in remote challenging environments offshore.
  • Possess a strong commitment and enthusiasm to the role and the apprenticeship.
  • Have a confident personality with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be highly self-motivated, be able to work in a small team and independently.
  • Have good problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience of common Microsoft packages and good IT skills.
  • Undertake parts of your qualification on windfarms.
  • High degree of flexibility, extremely motivated with the ability to work under pressure.
