Baker Hughes currently has a need for an Offshore Chemist to provide support to a major operator in the North Sea. The Offshore Chemist will support field sales by providing technical assistance, delivering chemicals, collecting and analyzing samples and monitoring application programs.
As an Offshore Chemist, you will be responsible for:
Managing chemical injection surveillance, including monitoring of chemical injection pumps, maintaining chemical pump function, inventory reporting and ordering
Adjusting chemical dosage rates and/or change chemical applications in order to meet customer defined objectives
Managing chemical stock management and control
Completing sample collection and analysis including commercial and regulatory compliance samples
Reporting of analysis results to Account Managers for recommendation to the client
Providing process optimization support as required
Troubleshooting process upsets and providing guidance to offshore operations teams
Managing Hazard identification and COSHH support on site through specialist chemical knowledge.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
Have completed a minimum of HNC in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related subject
Have excellent Health, Environmental and Safety Standards
Have previous experience within oilfield chemicals
Be able to demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement processes
Have a high standard of computer literacy
Have excellent interpersonal skills
Have strong problem solving skills

The position is specific for Offshore activity. The rotational work pattern is 2/3 with a fixed "additional work days" requirement.
