Office Manager

Areera is leading the way in the recycling industry by deploying new technologies to the recycling of both TVs and Computer Monitors. Our customers are councils, retailers, and leading manufacturers. From a start-up just 18 months ago, we are now one of the largest screen recyclers in the UK. Our site in Elland, West Yorkshire opened in 2021 and now operates one of Europe's most advanced TV recycling facilities using robotics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and x-ray technologies.
Responsibilities:
Manage the office team's daily workload, ensuring efficient task allocation and completion.- Provide leadership and direction to the team, conducting regular team meetings and reviews.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the team's skills and encourage professional growth.
- Take charge of the transportation management plan, including contract negotiations, dispute resolution, and organising the weekly transport plan.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers while ensuring the smooth organisation of the daily transport plan.
- Act as a bridge between our office and the finance team, reconciling invoices, managing budgets, and controlling procurement costs.
- Analyse and report on agency spend, negotiate supplier costs, and handle invoice queries.
- Monitor and report on KPIs, truck movements, staffing levels, and various office costs, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Organise and facilitate visits from environmental agencies and potential customers, showcasing our commitment to sustainability and excellence.
- Oversee stock ordering for office materials and equipment, maintaining optimal inventory levels.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and influence a team towards achieving goals.- Proficiency in financial reporting and advanced Excel knowledge to analyse data and produce insightful reports.
- Experience in managing an office ideally withing a warehousing / logistics business.
- Excellent communication skills to negotiate with suppliers, liaise with staff, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Ability to challenge existing systems and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to work independently and proactively, making informed decisions that drive business success.
- Familiarity with transportation compliance requirements to ensure adherence to regulations.
- Detail-oriented and proactive mindset, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting regulatory requirements.
