Position: Transport Office Administrator.

Location: Based at our offices in Bradford.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent.

Salary: Dependent upon experience/age hence why there is such a big gap between the start/end salary we have used. Salary will be negotiable and can be discussed in further detail.

About the role:

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Transport Assistant to assist our Senior Traffic Planner's who oversee up to 60 vehicles on multidrop and full load road haulage. The role will involve working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment and working in pressurised situations. The successful candidate would need a good working knowledge of basic IT systems and a good team-based work ethic. It is imperative that the candidate can communicate with customers in the right manner and be customer service orientated.

If a challenge and the possibility of progression is something you are looking for then don't hesitate to show your interest as we can accomodate but is not essential.

Please note on this role we do not necessarily require somebody with experience in our industry as we are willing to invest our time and knowledge into the suitable candidate however good customer service skills and good IT skills are a must with the ability to work in a fast paced office environment however experience in the sector would be beneficial.

We are looking at the hours Monday to Friday starting at 9am and finishing at 6pm which includes a 30 minute lunch window. Hours can be discussed further as we may be able to be flexible to suit the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Helping to manage drivers, including agency drivers and subcontracted routes.
  • Dealing with breakdowns, traffic delays and accidents which impact on routes, communicating to customer.
  • The role holder will be expected to work as a member of the traffic team and day to day tasks will change depending upon the type and quantity of work the depot has.
  • Previous BUT NOT ESSENTIAL experience of working in an administration position in a logistics or transport environment.
  • Great IT skills and a fast learner.
  • Great organisational skills alongside great customer service.
  • Effectively communicate with drivers, planners and depots along with other staff members.
  • Must be a team player and enjoy working in an open office.
  • Be computer literate.
  • Be flexible in approach and availability to meet business needs
  • Be a proactive team member.
  • Geographical knowledge of the UK.
