About the job:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal Counsel to join our team. As the Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for obtaining and managing various licenses and authorizations within the financial regulations field. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and maintaining accurate records of licenses and authorizations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial regulations, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven track record of successfully obtaining licenses.
Main responsibilities
- Research and stay up to date on the latest legal and regulatory requirements related to financial regulations and licenses.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the licenses and authorizations required for the organization's operations.
- Identify the licenses and authorizations necessary for the organization and develop a strategic plan to obtain and maintain them.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including legal, compliance, and operations teams, to gather necessary documentation and information for license applications.
- Prepare and submit license applications in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all required documentation.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external legal counsel to facilitate the license application process, respond to inquiries, and resolve any issues or concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of licenses and authorizations, including renewal dates, key terms, and any related documentation.
- Monitor and track license renewals and initiate the renewal process in a timely manner to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement compliance processes and procedures related to license requirements.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure ongoing compliance with license terms and conditions.
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams on license-related matters, ensuring awareness of compliance obligations.
Your experience and mindset
- Proven experience in obtaining and managing licenses and authorizations within the financial regulations field.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, compliance requirements, and licensing processes.
- Excellent understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to the financial services industry.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple license applications simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in preparing and reviewing documentation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address regulatory issues and challenges.
- Proficient in using legal research tools and software.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of international financial regulations and licenses is a plus.
- Professional certifications in compliance or financial regulations are advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in law and legal field. Master's degree or equivalent is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in regulated financial services: payment providers, banks, regulators, consultancy services
