The Role
We are working on two exciting roles with for a Multinational Network. They are looking to add a Legal Counsel (NQ-4PQE) and a Lead Counsel (6PQE+) to work on all customer product and propositions related to consumer credit and financial services. This is a unique opportunity to work for a Multinational business that has a broad offering of products to client and acting as a essential advisor.
The Responsibilities
You will lead for the Product Legal Team on all customer product and proposition projects relating to consumer credit & financial services, personally delivering complex legal advice as well as making sure that all financial services customer terms and documentation are best in class and legally enforceable. You will also lead/advise on cross functional projects and risks where needed.

You will be aligned to senior stakeholders in the Consumer division, specifically related to regulated FCA products
- You will manage maintain internal relationships, for example (but not only) with peers and other team members in the Marketing, Digital, Consumer legal, Group Legal and Regulatory Affairs teams
You will be responsible for making sure that the Consumer division understands what is required to comply with relevant law and regulation. You will deliver succinct and precise advice and risk-based reports to senior stakeholders to facilitate decision making
You will be responsible for drafting legally enforceable consumer credit and payment services documentation
You will be a key contributor to Horizon Scanning which ensures relevant new financial services regulations are foreseen and the business is aware and advised of required changes to ensure compliance
You will influence the strategic approach taken in your area and more widely across Consumer
You will advise other members of the Legal team on contractual issues relating to regulated consumer credit and payment services regulation
You will collaborate with the rest of the team
The Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following skills, experience and requirements:
Legal Counsel (NQ-4PQE) and Lead Counsel (6PQE+) (PQE is a guide and will be determined by experience)
E&W Qualified ideally but will consider FQ lawyers with relevant experience
Experience as a Financial Services Lawyer
Experience of working within one of the following: telecoms, financial services regulation including payments or insurance.
Knowledge of the consumer credit industry and payment services regulation
Sound understanding of consumer business objectives and the regulatory framework
Strong team player
Experience of managing (Lead Counsel) as they will have 1 direct report is a bonus
