Job Summary
This is a great opportunity for a qualified solicitor with a specialist focus and passion for construction law to join an a major name in Commercial office development on a 12 month FTC.My client, a highly regarded property developer responsible for iconic office real estate projects across the capital, are seeking a qualified solicitor to join them in this vital position. The successful candidate will be joining a busy in-house legal department in a varied and engaging role.
Key responsibilities include but will not just be limited to the following:
- Drafting, negotiating and reviewing legal construction documents pertaining to developments, including building/development contracts, trade contracts, consultant appointments, development agreements, collateral warranties/third party rights, bonds, guarantees and other security instruments.
- Providing legal protection and risk management advice to management, especially on contract management and dispute resolution.
- Understanding and assisting in implementing construction tendering processes.
- Assisting the UK Senior Legal Counsel in advising management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures, with a particular emphasis on construction procurement.
Skills and Qualifications needed:
- At least 2 + years PQE legal experience with a focus on non-contentious construction matters.
- Knowledge of the forms of construction contract which are widely used in the UK (such as JCT contracts) as well as bespoke contracts.
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales)
- Possesses a pragmatic approach to problem solving with a willingness to roll up sleeves.
