We are currently recruiting for a Legal Counsel to join our team in London (hybrid working) on a fixed term contract.
We are seeking an experienced and business-oriented In-House Legal Counsel to join our team and lead the development and maintenance of the contractual framework for our Rebate Outsourcing and Distribution Channel Management services.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in asset management, working on distribution agreements, and a strong knowledge of the main European fund distribution regulations. As an In-House Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for ensuring that our contractual framework is in line with legal and regulatory requirements, and that it meets the needs of our clients and their distributors.
Your key responsibilities as a Legal Counsel will include to:
- Develop and maintain the contractual framework for our Rebate Outsourcing and Distribution Channel Management services, ensuring that it is legally compliant and meets the needs of our clients and their distributors
- Negotiate and review contracts with AMs and distributors, including rebate agreements, distribution agreements, and service level agreements
- Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks associated with our Rebate Outsourcing and Distribution Channel Management services
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including the sales team and product team, to ensure that the contractual framework meets the needs of our clients and aligns with our business objectives
- Provide legal support for new product development, including drafting and reviewing terms and conditions
- Keep up-to-date with changes in relevant legislation and regulations, ensuring that our contractual framework remains legally compliant
- Provide legal support for client onboarding and due diligence processes
- Work with our CLM platform to ensure the smooth management of contracts and related processes
To join us as a Legal Counsel you will need the following experience and skills:
- You must have a law degree and solid post qualification experience
- You must prior experience in the asset management sector, working on distribution agreements
- You must have a strong understanding of the main European fund distribution regulations
- You must have a business-oriented mindset, with a focus on meeting client needs whilst mitigating legal and commercial risks
- You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- You must have the ability to work autonomously, under tight deadlines and pressure from clients
- You will ideally have familiarity with a CLM platform and experience with contract management
