Derbyshire County Council has recently undertaken a detailed review of its Occupational Therapy services and are implementing a new countywide structure in January 2024. As a result, we are introducing a number of new roles including Occupational Therapy Coordinators.
The successful candidates will support and co-ordinate the progress, administration and workflow for Occupational Therapy interventions, including those cases where a major adaptation has been recommended. You will work closely with other professionals such as Social Workers and Occupational Therapists and be an excellent communicator, having the ability to liaise with people and their representatives to gather or provide information, to support successful outcomes and provide a good quality customer focussed service.
You will coordinate your own case load, ensuring the Major Adaptation and Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) process runs smoothly and take action where there may be delays, escalating concerns as required. The OT coordinator will liaise with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to various meetings, including the DFG (Disabled Facilities Grant) meetings, highlighting necessary actions to assist in implementing the recommendations relating to the person.
The role demands significant administrative skills, including the use of IT systems and excel. Ideally, you will have experience of working with people with health & social care needs, although this isn’t essential.
