Practitioner Occupational Therapist

Long Term Assessment and Review Service

The Adult Social Care Long Term Service is for people, aged 18+ who are living in the community and have been identified as having long term care and support needs. This service will work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders from across the health and social care system and third sector and voluntary groups in Cumbria in ways that recognise strengths, promotes independence and prevents, reduces or delays the need for formal long term care and support provision.

Assessments and reviews will be undertaken in a strengths-based way that maximises the use of social capital and community based assets. The Service will work across health, social care and third sector organisations with a primary focus upon ensuring that all support plans:-

The Occupational Therapy team consists of team manager, 2 seniors , 3 practitioners and a Rehabilitation officer for the Visually impaired. We are closely linked to our council wide OT colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary teams in the Eden area.

The post holder will actively promote the work of the Westmorland and Furness council, playing a central role in the development of a strength based, responsive, high quality occupational therapy service. You will work with a wide variety of customers with a wide range of long term needs as part of the wider Health and Social care community. This is a great opportunities to build your skills and knowledge around enabling and promoting independence with more complex problem solving, equipment and adaptations within a supportive team

DBS

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with a Adults Barred List check.

Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with adults. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with adults.
