Location: Haringey

Contract Type: Ongoing contract

Pay Rate: £18.76 per hour (assignment rate)

Duties:

• Assess the functional abilities and ongoing care needs of people with physical disabilities in their homes with the aim to increase independence and improve their safety
• Set SMART goals with people that show potential for further improvement
• Provide reablement intervention under the guidance of a therapist, including teaching appropriate techniques for washing, dressing, transfers, safe mobility and meal preparation to increase independence
• Identify and order equipment and aids that can optimise function and prompt independence
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), liaise frequently with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, district nurse and care providers providing regular feedback in the weekly MDT meeting
• Manage a caseload of clients independently

Requirements of the Social Services Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant:

• Previous experience working as a Therapy Assistant
