Job description
We are looking for a suitable applicant for this new post based in the Community Specialist Palliative care team. You will assist in the delivery of Specialist Occupational therapy assessment and treatment to support Palliative patients in their home environment.
While predominately working with the Community Palliative Care Occupational Therapist, you will also support the Palliative Care Physiotherapist and liaise with the wider Specialist Palliative care team.
You will be expected to have an SVQ Level III in health sciences or equivalent in addition to clinical competence and significant experience as a therapy assistant in a health or social care environment. Excellent communication skills, basic IT skills and the ability to responsive and adaptable to the changing patient and service needs are essential.
You must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the palliative care approach and the role of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. The ability to work as part of a multi professional team is integral to the post.
We are committed to providing training to enable you to carry a caseload in addition to supervision and appraisal for continuing professional development.
