14.25 Hours per week (Fixed Term - 10 Months)
We are looking to recruit an Occupational Therapy Assistant to work as part of the Orthopaedic Occupational Therapy Team at James Cook University Hospital to cover maternity leave.
You will assist the Occupational Therapists in providing high quality treatment and rehabilitation to patients within the hospital.
We are looking for a friendly, helpful and motivated person, preferably with some experience of working in a healthcare setting.
We are looking for an applicant with a keen interest in the rehabilitation of patients for which continued professional development will be actively encouraged.
The appointed candidate must successfully undertake a pre-employment medical and have disclosure details available prior to starting work.
- To provide an effective and efficient clinical Occupational Therapy service within the framework of clinical governance
- To work in a range of settings for example; hospital ward, a patient’s own home.
- The post holder will work as part of the Therapy Team, completing tasks as required to support the provision occupational therapy services. The post holder will be an integral part of OT service provision to the ward and provide some support in the community. The post holder will work independently following direction by the occupational therapist, reporting on patient’s progress and communicating other relevant information.

You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
