The post holder will provide a range of bespoke interventions to support service users supervised by the Senior Occupational Therapists. This will include a mixture of face-to-face 1:1 and group interventions, both in people’s homes and community settings, as well as the provision of virtual interventions.

We are currently expanding and developing new pathways, including working with different eating disorders and offering flexible intensive support to support people at home and reduce the likelihood of hospital admissions.

We also work closely with inpatient teams to provide ongoing support to service users with eating disorders who are being discharged from hospital.

Occupational Therapy is a core part of these developments and the post holder would be joining to support the expansion of the Occupational Therapy provision.

There will be many opportunities for training and development as well as supervision from the Occupational Therapists and the wider team.

The post will involve travel to a range of locations in Derby city and Derbyshire. The current base for the Adult Eating Disorder Service is in Belper.

The service also offers opportunities for learning and development through peer reflection. Under the supervision of Senior Occupational Therapists, the post holder will use a variety of occupations to assist in the assessment and treatment of service users with an eating disorder in community settings.

The post holder will be expected to adopt the policies and philosophy of the Eating Disorders Service and contribute to the positive image of the Eating Disorders Service and the Trust to service users, carers and the community.

The post holder will also assist in the administration and preparation of activities necessary to carrying out the Occupational Therapy process.

Working within a supportive team, the post holder will be supported with regular multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical supervision with the Occupational Therapists in the team and operational supervision form the team manager.
