Apprenticeships are designed to give talented people an opportunity to gain a nationally recognized qualification while completing on the job training with our highly skilled clinicians.
We are seeking to appoint an innovative and enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Apprentice to work within the Adult Male psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU). This unit provides intensive care facilities for people compulsorily detained, who are in an acutely disturbed phase of a serious mental disorder such that their safe, therapeutic management and treatment in a general open acute ward is jeopardised. Oxleas House provides 24-hour services for Greenwich residents with mental health problems. The Occupational Therapy team provide a comprehensive Seven Day Therapies Programme with a focus on life skills acquisition.
To qualify for the apprenticeship program the successful candidate must meet the following criteria:
- Over 16 years old
- Resident in the UK / EU for the past 3 years
- Should have GCSEs level 2 /Grade C in Maths and English
- Successfully completed study at Level 3 including a science (Most universities do not accept City and Guilds nor NVQ as Level 3 qualifications)
