We have one band 5 post available: Full time - 37.5 hours per week in Oxfordshire.
We are looking for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist, with some experience of working with children. This position includes working in mainstream and special schools and working with children and families at home in the South of Oxfordshire. You will join our occupational therapy team of Lead OT’s, Senior OT’s and OT Technical Instructors.
This job is for a Band 5 OT who is enthusiastic and motivated with good assessment, communication, organizational and time management skills. There is regular supervision, training and support from the area OT lead and peers. The work also involves supporting new members of staff, students and technical instructors.
You will have the opportunity to work with children and young people who have a wide range of complex physical and developmental needs including conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy and Autism.
The Children’s Community OT service works in partnership with young people and parents, Health, Education and Social Service professionals to provide a holistic quality service across the whole of Oxfordshire.
Within Oxfordshire there is a Children’s Integrated Service and you will have the opportunity to work in partnership with Physiotherapists and Speech and Language Therapists within the Children’s Integrated Therapy team and be involved in developing policies based on best practice, evidence and positive outcomes for the Children’s Occupational Therapy team.
Access to car or ability to travel between county-wide locations is essential.
There is a well-established appraisal system with an excellent commitment to staff training and development. All staff receive regular clinical supervision, access to a variety of CPD sessions with Clinical Leads, clinical and caseload discussions with senior colleagues.

- New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
- Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
