Bedfordshire and Luton Directorate is looking to appoint a fixed term Lead Occupational Therapist for maternity cover.
The Directorate is undergoing a huge transformation within mental health services and revising its offer to meet the needs of the population. The ideal candidate will dissolve the boundaries between primary and secondary care, and make sure Occupational Therapy services play a full part in developing a place-based, population health model
This is an exciting opportunity to influence and innovate new ways of working through Occupational Therapy services and the wider teams. The appointed person would be expected to demonstrate very strong leadership for a well-established and valued workforce in community, in-patient, and specialist services, raise the profile of occupational therapy. In addition, the post-holder will play a full part in the directorate management team.
To facilitate the development of professional excellence for Occupational Therapy staff in L&B by ensuring that Occupational Therapists work safely and in a clinically and cost effective way.
To ensure that L&B maintains a skilled and effective Occupational Therapy workforce within existing resources.
To facilitate Occupational Therapists involvement within L&B transformations
To promote the value of Occupational Therapy throughout L&B and to act as the public face of Occupational Therapy externally and internally.
To ensure L&B maintain a recovery focus Occupational Therapy workforce and lead on recovery within the directorate.
