O&M Engineer (Cyber Security / C&I)

Main Purpose of the Role
Key member of the Station Operation & Maintenance Team, providing/leading on the day to day maintenance & development of the station Controls and Process systems. Actively supporting the Remote Operations and broader O&M Multi Skilling agenda of the station whilst maintaining safe, flexible and reliable plant. The role exists within O&M to provide C&I, OT/IT & Process Control technical engineering support to the Station. Out of hours Call-out for breakdowns & operations support is an essential element of the role to ensure 24/7 plant availability & reliability, together with longer term support to our Biomass Engineering team for outages. This post offers the opportunity to work flexibly in a site team environment and experience a wide range of operations and maintenance responsibilities including the delivery of the continuous improvement agenda and to maximise the flexibility and potential of the station.
You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager, where you will be expected to work in close collaboration with your colleagues within Maintenance, Operations, Asset Management and Engineering.
Your Tasks and Challenges
- Play a leading and active role in managing safety: live our performance and Mission Zero safety culture and climate
- Distributed Process Control Systems: Architecture, maintenance and diagnostics, cyber security management / issues, assessment of OEM recommendations, management and strategy of obsolescence including PLC’s and “Black Box” systems
- Controls & Instrumentation: Transmitters, functional safety requirements and maintenance
- Management of cyber security systems associated with process control related hardware and software (security measures, incidents and vulnerabilities).
- Part of wider RWE cyber security team and implementation of the OT Security Strategy at Markinch
- Advising and supporting the plant management team in OT security issues
- Carry out contract management roles to Technical Officer Authorisation
- Contribute to the generation and review of maintenance procedures
- Actively support the need to develop cross-discipline skills & work flexibly to support each other irrespective of their background discipline
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team to efficiently plan and safely deliver outages, commission and return the plant to service in a structured and safe manner.
- Continuously improves the security of the operational systems
Your Profile
- Have a recognised engineering background in C&I / Electrical discipline or comparable. University / HND level of qualification is desirable.
- Knowledge of OT infrastructures and OT application architectures
- Several years of professional experience in the energy sector, other process industry or in a maintenance environment.
- Knowledge of Siemens Simatic Manager and PCS7 would be advantageous.
- ISO 27000 certified would be advantageous.
- Have strong interpersonal skills and be competent in the use of applicable business IT systems such as Microsoft Office and have previous experience of a Maintenance Management System
- Flexible and agile in their approach to supporting the station through flexible working hours and application of skills. Ability and flexibility to retrain and to take on new skill sets

- An expected starting salary from £50,078 to £58,915 depending on experience and up to 15% annual bonus
