Nutritionist
Reports to: Senior Health and Wellbeing Programme Lead
Based: Wandsworth & Richmond
Salary: £26.25 per hour
Contract: Casual

Role Overview
- Responsible for supporting and delivering on Enable health and wellbeing programmes, such as Diabetes Prevention Decathlon, Weight Management and Guys Get Active.
- Lead sessions which educate participants on nutrition and healthy living by facilitating interactive and engaging lifestyle sessions.
- Help participants to identify and understand their current barriers to healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle.
- Support participants to set realistic goals in terms of changing behaviour and achieving positive health outcomes.
- Safe and effective delivery of programme specific sessions for adults.
- Plan the sessions to be interactive and engaging, considering the needs of the target group as outlined in the programme topics.
- Prepare lifestyles resources where appropriate, and ensure equipment is prepared and safe to use. Report any damage/breakage/loss to the programme lead.
- Facilitate lifestyle sessions that are developmentally appropriate and relevant for all participants.
- Open and close community halls and spaces when needed, keep charge of keys.
- Ensure a variety of experiences for the participants, using a range of skills, activities, and delivery methods to the delivery of the sessions.
- Ensure all participants have a positive experience that is inclusive, fun, and motivating.
- Assist individuals to set and achieve realistic personal goals that will remove barriers to change behaviours.
- Respond to individual needs and queries of participants, where appropriate.
- Keep a record of individuals’ measurements and progress throughout the programmes.
- Conduct Pre and Post questionnaires with all individuals for reporting (as agreed with the Programme Lead)
- Be aware of information on the risk assessment and update with any new risks as appropriate.
- Report any major incidents and/or accidents to the appropriate staff member as soon as possible and record on incident report form provided.
- Hold a degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or any related field which is affiliated with the Association for Nutrition (AfN) or the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
- Experience in leading evidence-based healthy lifestyle/weight management activities with children and adults
- Confident in delivering engaging and creative lifestyle sessions to groups
- Self-motivated
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with programme participants
- Excellent time management skills, working on weekly timed programmes
- A caring and empathetic attitude
- Ability to use initiative
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to support and motivate individuals to meet their targets.
