Our client a Global Medical Insurer are searching for a highly motivated nurse with aviation medicine and/or international private medical insurance (IPMI) experience to join the team. Our client is one of the world’s leading international medical insurance companies, providing individuals and corporate organisations the reassurance and assistance services required in the event of illness or injury during their travels for business, leisure or while living overseas.
The successful candidate will join the medical team in providing high quality medical care for the safe and timely case management and transfer of their clients. The role of nursing officer includes but is not limited to:
- Telephone and email-based travel advice to individuals and small corporate groups
- Management of inpatient and outpatient cases.
- Augmentation and facilitation of the transfer of insured clients & members.
- Maintenance and development of the medical equipment library, ensuring high standards of governance.
- Liaising with and maintaining the database of team of escorts.
- Working collaboratively with other subsidiaries of the group in providing a global and integrated service.
- Provide pre-authorisation services for a range of international private medical insurance clients.
Essential candidate specific criteria
- Registered general nurse on Sub part 1 of the NMC register.
- 3 years post registration nursing experience in an acute field such as ICU/A&E or pre-hospital roles.
- Demonstrate an ability to work autonomously with authority, while working as part of a greater team.
- This candidate must be dynamic and adaptable in response to the needs of the business.
- Ability to attend the Cardiff office or Redhill Offices.
Desired candidate attributes
- Have studied or working towards CCAT course or equivalent aeromedical retrieval course.
- Experience in teaching and mentorship of peer groups.
- Experience in aeromedical retrievals.
- Experience with assistance case management.
- Experience with international private medical case management and preauthorisation procedures.
- Experience professional or personal of international travel.

Salary: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
