Leading in innovation and quality, opening a state of the art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. Do you want to work in one of the best performing NHS organisations in England? Work in an organisation that supports its staff and focuses on staff experience as much as it does the experience of its patients? Sound too good to be true? Well it isn’t, this is what you get when you work for Northumbria Healthcare, this is the Northumbria Way! Please read ‘applicant guidance notes’ before submitting.
Being a Healthcare Support Worker is a wonderful role – we know this because our teams tell us all the time. You will play a vital role in the care of our patients, helping with the day to day needs of our patients through the provision of help with personal care, bathing/showering, toileting, mealtimes and supporting them with their mobility as necessary.
You will also perform observations etc and confidently update our electronic patient records accurately to ensure all the information about our patients is captured for our clinical colleagues to use. Accuracy of information and teamwork are essential parts of the role.
Sometimes the role will be tough, you will see and be involved in some difficult things involving our patients, be very busy and deliver some very direct personal care. We don’t want to shy away from this and we know that this part of the role wont be for everyone. This is why we run such a robust interview and assessment process to make sure you understand all aspects of the role, as well as assess you to check you have all the fabulous skills, behaviours, attributes, resilience and caring nature we need.
