Nursery: Bright Horizons Harpenden Luton Road Day Nursery and Preschool

Job Type: Part-time /20 hours a week Mon-Fri/ Permanent

Salary: £22,048.00-£29,702.40 FTE ( dependent on qualification/s and experience)

Our Bright Horizons Harpenden Day Nursery and Preschool is Ofsted rated 'Good', and is situated in Harpenden, just a short distance from the town centre with onsite parking available.

The nursery is set in a beautiful converted Victorian house with seven spacious rooms spread over three floors, including a 'must-see' log cabin nursery room. The nursery also benefits from a large outdoor play area which the children enjoy regularly!

PLEASE NOTE: This role is working Monday to Friday, around the hours of 10.30am- 2.30pm.

What you’ll be doing

  • Plan, create and implement engaging activities, tailored to each of your key children, to encourage their development towards key milestones.

  • Observing, tracking and reflecting on learning

  • Develop and maintain strong parent/ carer partnerships

  • Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding procedures and policies are followed at all times

  • Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy and safe environment on a day to day basis

What we’re looking for

  • Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification

  • Previous experience working with children (ideally as a Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, Nursery Assistant or similar)

  • Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child

  • Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents

  • Ability to use a variety of techniques to clearly and successfully communicate with both children and adults

  • Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
