Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield and Newcastle.
We offer a wide-ranging curriculum to our Further Education students, including Arboriculture, Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal Management, Countryside and the Environment, Engineering, Equine, Floristry, Motorsport, Professional Tree Surgery, Outdoor Adventure Sport, Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness and Uniformed Public Services.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Glasshouse/Nursery Manager with a strong background in Horticulture to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Glasshouses and Nursery at our York Campus. This role will be working full time, 37 hours per week.
We are seeking an individual who will be responsible for leading on the production, growing and care of plant stocks whilst working closely with the Curriculum Area Manager to drive forward quality and ensure high standards within all elements of the study programme, full cost, community and adult education provision.
Sector experience within a commercial Horticulture setting would be beneficial.
The successful candidate will manage the Glasshouses and Nursey to increase commercial viability and ensure that all provisions are made available for the practical elements of our courses.
Educated to degree level or above in a relevant subject knowledge. With excellent knowledge of plant cultivation, stock management,iosecurity and having a keen eye on market trends.
