The 423rd Force Support Squadron based at RAF Alconbury are looking to recruit a Child and Youth
Program Assistant to assist them with their child and youth programs. You will be accountable for the whereabouts and safety of children ranging from the ages of 6 weeks to 5 years.
As a Child & Youth Program Assistant, you will provide assistance in planning activities, special projects, children’s homework and life skills. You will help establish a program environment that promotes positive child and youth interactions with other children, youth and adults.
You will supervise children during their daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings and special events while interacting professionally with staff members, parents, supervisors and volunteers.
Knowledge and Experience Required
- Must be educated to a GCSE level or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with children is desired.
Other Important Information
- Position may be coded as key worker (mission essential).
- Working schedule will be as rostered. Working hours will be between the hours of 06:00-18:00
- Must obtain and maintain relevant security clearance.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.

- Must be able to lift 40lbs or more and stand for long periods. A pre-employment physical and immunizations are required.
- Must obtain Food Handlers Certificate once employed.
- Prior to working with children/youth, you must successfully complete the Air Force orientation program. You must complete a minimum of three AF modules, First Aid & CPR within the first 6 months of employment.
- Must successfully complete a minimum of three modules every three months after fulfill the initial 6 month period requirement.
