NURSE AIDE TRAINING PROGRAM Hilo Medical Center, Hilo, HI | Various Nursing Units Transitional Care Unit | 90% Full Time Equivalent with Benefits Surgical Acute | 100% Full Time Equivalent with Benefits Progressive Care Unit | 100% Full Time Equivalent with Benefits Operating Room | 100% Full Time Equivalent with Benefits Nursing Administration | 10% without Benefits Start Date: November 27, 2023 Salary: Entry Level: $3,881 per month, $46,572 per year, $22.39 per hour, HE-02, BU:10 Now is an exciting time to join Hilo Medical Center as a Nurse Aide! We are establishing an new paid training program for Nurse Aides to join our acute units. Candidates seeking a fulfilling career in health care are encouraged to apply (no health care experience required). This position will be responsible for providing direct patient care through the performance of a variety of nursing support tasks in accordance with established methods and procedures and performs other duties as assigned. Hilo is located on the east side of the island of Hawaii, and has a quaint old-Hawaiian, small town atmosphere. BENEFITS for 100% Positions: 13 paid holidays each year (14 during election years) 21 paid vacation days per year 21 paid sick days per year Medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: PREREQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR ENTRY LEVEL: Knowledge of personal hygiene and bodily care. CERTIFICATION: Basic Life Support (BLS) in Health Care Provider (adult, child and infant) must be obtained within six (6) months of employment. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) in Health Care Provider (adult, child and infant) is preferred. Please submit copy of certification with the application. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of multiple/differing cultures; oral and written communication skills; good observation skills and ability to recall and report/document a series of events accurately; positive attitude; tolerant of unusual, irritating behavior (e.g., slow, repetitive, forgetful, confused, incontinent, messy). Must be available to work shifts, weekends and holidays, based on hospital operations. Services are provided 24/7. MEDICAL EXAMINATION REQUIREMENT: Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
