2 Year Rotational programme

Rotation 1 - Process (process) - 12 months
Rotation 2 - Knowsley (concept) - 6 months
Rotation 3 - Leeming Bar (concept) - 6 months

The NPD function within ABP ensures that our products are on trend, profitable and food safe meeting with our customers' policies and consumer need states. We lead the industry with our NPD programmes providing the commercial teams with the best possible platform to develop business with a wide range of customers.

Our graduate programme will provide individuals with a thorough understanding of all NPD aspects of our business from concept to launch and all things in between.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and vibrant team in an all-encompassing training programme!

Your ultimate goal will be to progress towards becoming a NPD manager at one of our sites in the UK. From day one you will have real responsibility on a daily basis and get a clear path for future career progression with 8 levels of NPD roles available at ABP from graduate to controller. Your journey will take in everything from understanding food trends and flavours, turning these ideas into product concepts and working closely with all departments to take them through to factory launch after which you get to see your products for sale on the supermarket shelves!

By the end of our training program, you'll be perfectly equipped to champion product development throughout the business having experienced 3 exciting rotations in the following learning environments:

First rotation - NPD Bronze level. NPD step training / technologist experience /process technologist experience.

After completing the bronze level development course you will embark upon your first rotation where you will work as a graduate process technologist to learn the core skills required to launch a product.

Second & Third rotations - Recipe development experience with both our frozen meat and meat free sites along with specifications, artwork, commercial, category and technical awareness.

Learning from some of the industry's leading chefs and product developers you will develop your creative and culinary skills specialising in recipe creation, functional ingredients and customer presentations.

You will also be aligned with commercial, category and technical functions to fully understand their role and influences on the NPD process.

We're looking for:

  • Degree in Food & Nutrition or equivalent - BSc (Hons)
  • Industry experience in manufacturing / work placement is preferred but not essential
