Job Summary

Business School Course, Curriculum, and Microcredential Coordinator consults and collaborates with the Business School Associate Dean for Programs to provide direct professional support for the academic affairs of the college. This includes course scheduling, rooming of courses, academic data, and information management, and compliance with academic policies and institutional practices related to courses and curriculum.

The Business School Course, Curriculum, and Microcredential Coordinator is responsible for understanding and supporting the planning, analysis, and information management needs of academic and administrative decision-makers within the school and serves as a point of contact and editor for the academic content of the university catalog. The Business School course and curriculum coordinator also contributes to efforts to implement effective and efficient workflows in support of existing and novel academic programs and practices.

As subject matter expertise grows for academic administrative tools and processes, the course and curriculum coordinator supports the training of other Business School staff, program directors, and department leadership in the use of these tools and processes to ensure compliance with institutional policies and practices.

Examples of Work Performed

Curriculum Management and Development

  • Provide support for the development and implementation of new courses and curricula.
  • Manage academic program/plan stacks in CI-SIS.
  • Manage microcredential and badge implementation and editing in Credly.
  • Manage the academic catalog editing process and publication.
  • Course Inventory Management creates course proposals and reviews course inventory to identify classes that may need to be removed.
  • Support the implementation of the new catalog, badging, scheduling, rooming, and enrollment workflows.
  • Identify and work collaboratively with student success teams and campus service units as appropriate.

Course Scheduling & Rooming

  • Work with Discipline Directors to build semesterly course schedules.
  • Work with administration to monitor and respond to enrollment demands.
  • Manage instructional and TA assignments and LMS access.
  • Manage uploading of students and administrators to co-curricular courses.
  • Troubleshoot, escalate and resolve registration and access issues as needed.
  • Enter student-specific permission requests, distribute general permission numbers, and collaborate with Registrar’s Office to resolve any issues.
  • Point person for the Registrar’s Office, Dean’s Office, Discipline Directors, and Faculty members to coordinate, schedule, pre-rooming, and re-room classrooms.
  • Provide support to the Chief of Staff and event planning staff around the use of EMS for room scheduling.

Academic Support and Analysis

  • Submit and troubleshoot all academic-related system access requests.
  • Onboard new and update all Business School stakeholders on academic system usage.
  • Update/Maintain faculty course assignments in Digital Measures.
  • Support faculty in maintaining their profiles in Digital Measures as needed for AACSB accreditation.
  • Provide support to the Associate Dean for assessment, accreditation, and Regental requests.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean and with Institutional Research to generate reports.

Other Duties

  • Other duties as assigned. Support the Associate Dean and Student Success team as needed in academic planning activities or data-intensive student success activities (e.g., degree audit, pre-requisite checking, post-enrollment requisite checking, report generation).

In addition to the above, the Senior Professional level will also:

Curriculum Management

  • Develop procedures for the creation and offering of Microcredential and badges within the Business School.
  • Create and maintain templates for majors, minors, certificates, microcredential for catalog, and microcredential systems.
  • Point of contact for microcredential and badging policy compliance.
  • Point of contact for curriculum policy and compliance.
  • Develop the implementation of new curricular, scheduling, and enrollment workflows.
  • Point of contract and subject matter expert for scheduling policies and practices.

Academic Planning and Analysis

  • Support annual curriculum management and instructional budget meetings.
  • Manage data sets used for academic planning and analysis.
  • Support AD in workflow management for annual review, tenure, and promotion in Digital Measures.
  • Assist in developing and revising program and course policies due to changes made at the school, campus, and state (CCHE) levels.

Salary and Benefits:

Professional:

  • The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $50,000 -$55,000.

Senior Professional:

  • The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $55,000 -$62,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

FLSA Status: Not eligible for overtime (exempt)

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

Professional:

  • A bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • 1 year of professional-level experience in department or program support, which includes data and information management and/or policy compliance; and proficiency with MS Excel.

Senior Professional:

  • A bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an institution.
  • 2 years of professional-level experience in higher education which includes curriculum management, course scheduling, or department or program support, and advanced experience with MS Office applications (i.e., Excel and Outlook)

Substitutions: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with student information systems and course management systems currently in use at CU Denver (CU-SIS, Cognos, Canvas, Courseleaf, Digital Measures).
  • Experience handling, analyzing, and interpreting academic data with Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience working with faculty, staff, and university structures.
  • Experience in conducting individual or group training or public presentations.
  • Experience providing administrative support to Administrators or Executive level positions.
  • Experience working with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Experience providing leadership and working collegially and collaboratively to meet organizational goals and initiatives.
