Job Role: Deputy Head of Retail
Location: East Manchester
Salary: £37,000 - £39,000
RG Freight Recruitment are working on behalf of a high quality catering and entertainment company to source a Deputy Head of Retail to join their exciting project in East Manchester.
This client works with a well known brand in East Manchester to provide a unique food and drink experience during high profile events.
Their efforts focus on the people and the product, rather than their brand. This sets this client apart from most. They are about to enter an incredibly exciting period as over the next three years the site is being turned into one of the leading sports and entertainment venues in the world. Recently unveiled concepts for a best-in-class fan experience and year-round entertainment will allow the vision of of creating a 365 guest experience to be realised.
Due to this expansion, the role of Deputy Head of Retail is now available for an experienced and ambitious individual to join the team. The purpose of this role is to support the Head of Retail to manage the day to day running of the retail infrastructure across 60+ onsite food and retail outlets.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Managing and coaching a team of direct reports
- Assisting in the creation and development of new products and sales strategies
- Attending event planning meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Working with the People Team to increase the retention of permanent and agency staff
- Assisting with the management of partners, contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance and adherence to health and safety policies
- Assuming management responsibility in the absence of the Head of Retail
Experience & Qualities Required
- Experience of managing a retail environment in large volume high street operation or event/stadium operation
- Confidence and ability to make key decisions in high pressure situations
- Aspirational with a desire to build a career as a leader
- Ability to work well under pressure and be calming influence on others
- Hands on management style with no qualms about working on the front lien as required
- Computer literate with knowledge of cloud based systems
