Children’s Residential Support Worker / Young People / Leek

Children's Residential Support Worker to join a Children's Residential service in Leek. You will be Supporting young people between the ages of 6-16 with Learning / Physical disabilities, complex health needs and autism.

Overview:
● Title: Children's Residential Support Worker
● Salary: £24,000 - £25,000 (depending on qualifications) PLUS plenty of overtime available!!
● Location: Leek
● Contract: Permanent
● Hours: Full Time

The role:
What you will be doing as a Children's Residential Support Worker:
● To ensure that the children are safe and protect them from risks to their health and welfare
● All aspects of care including personal care
● To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
● Keeping on top of household chores such as cleaning & doing laundry
● To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
● Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
● Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the individual’s care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
● Supporting poor behaviour safely and sympathetically.
● Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in young people’s lives such as Psychologists.

The successful candidate:
What you will need to be a successful Children's Residential Support Worker
● You MUST be willing to carry out personal care duties
● Ideally be a driver as you will be required to transport the young people from time to time
● You MUST be an empathetic and relatable person, have good listening and communication skills, and a natural instinct to help others
● You MUST be able to commute to Leek

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £24,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
