The Learning Trust covers four schools within the Chester area. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated candidate to join our busy team in Chester. If you are seeking a career in IT, then this is the ideal role to earn while you learn.

What will the apprentice be doing?
- To provide administrative and technical support to the staff and to provide support to students using ICT
- To uphold the school ethos and set high standards in all areas of work
- To assist with the management and monitoring of ICT Systems (printers, client devices and CCTV) to ensure that the educational and business needs of the school are met
- Troubleshooting on the school’s ICT equipment
- Maintaining the ICT equipment inventory
- Assist with installing of new software including apps for mobile devices under the guidance of the ICT Technician or Network Manager
- Maintaining security and take action to prevent misuse of the network and other ICT equipment
- Assisting students and staff in order to access the ICT equipment and use equipment effectively
- Assisting in updating the troubleshooting guide as required
- To maintain the AV provision
- To assist in the delivery of training to all staff in the use of ICT hardware / software
- To assist in the maintenance of ICT Assets Register and stock levels
- To assist with the system administration for externally hosted system.
- To assist in checking deliveries of ICT equipment and supplies
Desired skills
Good ICT skills and ability to use a variety of software efficiently
Ability to show a good basic understanding of computer components and their purpose
Very good literacy, numeracy and presentation skills
Work experience in an IT environment
Personal qualities
Determination and willingness to undertake further training to improve/enhance skills
Calm, flexible, dependable and reliable
Good communicator and able to work as part of a team
Shows commitment to work and strong work ethic
Has smart presentable appearance and prepared to adhere to the academy dress code
Understands the importance of confidentiality
Shows an interest in IT solutions and experience of troubleshooting problems
