Job description
Cashbrokers Leamington Spa are looking for a full-time assistant manager to work in our busy store based in Leamington Spa. Working within a small team, you will assist management in the day-to-day operation and development of the business.
Your primary role will be to ensure the smooth running of the store, whilst adhering to our internal compliance and management procedures. You will also be the primary point of contact for customers in store, conducting Pawnbroking, Buyback, Retail, Precious Metals buying/selling and foreign exchange transactions, whilst maintaining our reputation for excellent customer service.
This is an incredibly diverse role, with no two days the same. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and should be able to “own” their role, relishing the opportunity to develop and improve the business.
A full-time position, and you will need to be available 5 days a week between Monday and Saturday, working 2 out of 4 Saturdays with an alternate weekday off.
Duties will include:
- Supporting management with the daily operation of our small but busy store.
- Ensuring that our compliance and other procedures are followed.
- Assist with the development and improvement of the business.
- Customer Service; the processing of loans, buybacks, and retail transactions, buying and selling of foreign currency, and precious metals whilst adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining and developing our high levels of customer service.
- Valuation and testing of Jewellery, Precious Metals, Electronic and other items for purchase, resale, and lending.
- Assisting with the operation of our eBay, and ecommerce platforms to include preparing items for sale and the packaging and dispatch of items sold.
- Dealing with customer enquiries, answering the telephone and general admin duties.
Required Skills:
- Customer service experience within a retail/customer facing environment.
- Friendly outgoing demeanour, with an ability to communicate and build relationships with a hugely diverse customer base.
- A good understanding of basic Maths
- Fluent English speaker
- Computer literate, including Outlook, basic Excel, and Word
- Experience within an ecommerce, retail, jewellery, or foreign exchange role would be highly advantageous.

Training will be provided, but experience with pawnbroking, foreign exchange, cash handling, retail or customer service would be beneficial.
The successful candidate will be subject to a Criminal Record check. There will also be a certain level of lifting and carrying required.

Salary £27000-28000 (dependant on experience), workplace pension, onsite parking, 28 days holiday (including public holidays)
